Plantations, Concessions and Farms Code

Our upstream operations increase our control over traceability and stewardship.

We focus on full compliance with relevant international industry standards. In those instances where a recognised standard does not exist, we work with academic institutions, industry experts and NGOs to develop and implement our own.

We divide our upstream operations into:

• Plantations (e.g. almonds, coffee, palm and rubber) – developing our plantations to internationally recognised standards
• Concessions (e.g. forestry) – managing our forestry operations to industry standards, safeguarding environmental stewardship and social welfare
• Company Farms (e.g. rice) – we are applying recognised sustainable agricultural practices to minimise impact and maximise yields.

The Code defines the process and standards for managing the environmental and social requirements of acquisitions and new and existing upstream developments across the entire project life-cycle. It is applicable for Onat Global-owned and operated projects as well as partnerships and joint ventures in operating upstream enterprises. It is applied in conjunction with the Onat Living Landscapes Policy.
